Word Wall

Here's my text messaging effort for the GPP street Team Crusade

For some reason, my words HAD to spell some sort of message, that made kind of sense (?)

I was lucky enough to receive a clothing catalogue this week and just as I was going to throw it out, a tiny lightbulb went off and I knew it would be good to use it in this particular crusade! Moral of the story - never throw things out! They are ALWAYS useful for something, especially art wise. I also love, love the textures on those walls I've used as backgrounds, so rustic!
Thanks for viewing!

  2. Krissie - love the backgrounds you used with your text messages. Cool to learn they are from a catalog. Great job, and good eye to repurpose! I find it interesting that you admitted you HAD to form meaning from the found words. I *dare* you to make another page that is abstract - cut right through a word so you can't tell what it says....and layer some upside-down. You don't HAVE to, (of course) just thought it might be an out-of-the-box challenge for yourself. Thanks for sharing your work with the team!!!

  4. I loe how you have used your text; two great pieces. The trouble with not throwing anything out though is that you get a house that looks like mine!!

  5. What a great idea to use catalogs for words! I always just toss them in the recycling bin. Not any more. You've made me a changed woman! Love the "WILD" in your pin-up.

    (I may use it.)

  13. Catalogs can provide such great words and even greater backgrounds. Thank goodness your lightbulb went off--the results are great! I love the generous use of white space--it makes the words seem more important.

  14. I love your blog header :-)
I like both your pages but the top one especially speaks to me. I am one of life's true insomniacs so anything to do with sleep gets my attention! I think you made great use of the catalogue.

  16. I love these and prefer a make sense kind of page myself. (Internal rules I still have!) I like the 2nd one enough to make a digital version for myself. I just don't know what story I'll tell..

  19. Fabby pages. I like the idea of using the words to spell out something sensible, rather than just to use them, which is what I did! Might have to try that, too. So much fun.
